A Little Lady {Audrey is One}

Audrey is the perfect mix of her parents. She is a little lady like her mother, and I think she is going to be super smart like her dad. She is still very petite, and is working on the whole standing and walking thing, but I know she will be running all over the house pretty soon, causing lots of trouble! Watching her grow from a bun in the oven to three, six, nine and twelve months has been so amazing. I am sad that we have finished our Belly To Baby First Year Series, but know that her mum and I are now friends and I will still get to watch Audrey grow.

My favorite things about Audrey:

Her fashion sense – good job mum!
Her big brown eyes
Her giggle – makes me giggle thinking about it
Her expressions – even when she is not smiling she has the best expressions
Most of all the fact that I get to be her photographer!

A Cheeky Holiday {Kayla}

Little Kayla has her parents, especially Dad, wrapped around her little finger! And quite rightly, too. She has these huge blue eyes and a lot of funny faces in her repertoire. She is just learning to sit so I used my magic powers to help her become an expert in sitting, and we captured some amazing images of her cheeky face…and her other cute cheeks too!

Baby Blue Eyes {Emma’s 1 Year Session}

Ummm…so cutest baby in the world or what?????? I have had such pleasure watching Emma grow up over the last year with our newborn and six month sessions as part of my Belly to baby Collections. Every time I see her she just gets cuter! Those big bay blues get me every time. It was really cool to see her walking and with hair too! She was very well behaved for the session and mum, dad and grandma where excellent helpers with the singing and dancing and clapping portion of the session.

As always, with Emma, these are my new favorite images and I can’t wait to put together her 1 year collage with all her best images. She will have a portfolio better than most catwalk models by the time she is 2!

Sunset at the Lagoon {Ali and Brian’s Wedding}

This is a hard post to write as there is so much to say! I loved this wedding. The people, the location, the design, the friends, the dress, the atmosphere, everything! We had so many images from this one it was hard to choose. Even harder when the bride is also a photographer and a friend. No pressure! LOL

One of my favorites from this year and I can’t wait to start designing the album! Its going to be a real storybook. Thanks, Ali, for asking me to capture such a special day in your life. It means a lot.

Umm…so I was dying whilst editing these images of 6 month old Audrey. Just dying at how freakin’ cute she is! Seriously love these images and am already looking forward to seeing Audrey again for her 9 month old images has part of her Belly to Baby First Year Series.

A Winter Wedding {Karla and Warren}

This wedding was a really tough one to shoot and edit for me as I felt so emotionally attached to the images after knowing Karla for about 3 years now. Karla was one of my first coaches on my beloved Team in Training team where we run and walk full and half marathons, and raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. After knowing and walking with her through every weather pattern it was an honor to be with her on this very special day, on January 16th, 2011.

The wedding day was a hot and sunny January day, one of the reasons I love living in Southern California. Karla and Warren chose the Pasadena City Hall for the location for their “reveal”, couples portraits and wedding party portraits before heading back to Altadena Baptist Church in Altadena. The candlelit wedding ceremony was attended by all their family and friends. And I mean all! The church was busting at the seams with people wanting to witness the love Karla and Warren share. The reception was all about hanging out with friends and loved ones. About hugging and laughing, chatting and smiling, and being together.

As a wedding photographer I spend a lot of time with people I don’t really know, on a very emotional day in all their lives. Fathers giving away daughters, sisters watching brothers walk the aisle, grandmothers tearing up as they watching granddaughters make a commitment to their love. Those that know me know that I am not the sort of person to sit on the outside of emotions, but to dive right in. Often not by choice due to my complete lack of control of my tear ducts! This wedding was no exception, as I got swept away in the emotions and love of the day. This is why I love what I do. Why I love meeting a new couple, getting to know them and sharing in their wedding day.

Karla and Warren, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer and I can’t wait for your post wedding engagement shoot!!!

Belly Bumps in the Park {Erin and Jin’s Maternity Shoot}

I was over the moon to hear that Erin and Jin are expecting a little bundle of joy, and even happier when they called me to capture some images of the little bump before she arrives. Yes, they are having a little girl and are still thinking of a name for her, but after hearing some of the options I can’t wait to hear what they decide on when she arrives!

Congratulations you two and I am looking forward to meeting her when she arrives!

Back Yard Giggles {A Family Portrait}

I was lucky enough to have gotten a chance to capture these little ones earlier this year for my Mother’s Day Special, and posted it back in May under The Three Little Lovelies. Now that the littlest one is a bit bigger and a lot more active it was time for a fun family portrait.

I went over to the family’s lovely home, (hand built by them by the way), and set about chasing the little ones around and capturing their smiles and giggles. It was a hot day, but we managed to make it feel like fall in our images, and I am excited to get their Holiday Cards ready to send to all their friends and family.

This family were the lucky winners of a portrait gift certificate from The Little Gym in La Cañada. They are new to the area and what better way to start than with a new family portrait, even including Tex, their 12 year old lab! It was great meeting this family and chatting with them, especially Dad Jonathan, whom is also a photographer. He does some amazing product and beauty photography.
