Hiking For Love {Cynthia and Sly}

This couple took me out, on the hottest day of April, hiking for their engagement session. The things I do for you people!!! It took me back to the days at school when we had to hike through the highlands of Scotland, minus the extreme heat. But it was worth it as this is an amazing couple.

I am so excited for their upcoming wedding in Marina Del Rey on July 14th. I think as you can see from the slideshow below that not only will Sly look very handsome in his suit, but Cynthia is going to look absolutely stunning! I mean really stunning. She looks amazing here in just a pretty blue top.

I had a great time hiking with them and capturing some amazing images of them. And even with my huge hatred of mushrooms, I sacrificed myself by styling their rings on a rogue mushroom. But as you can see it all worked out fine. Although it is good that we didn’t take any pictures after we hiked all the way back up the hill in 90 degree heat! Trust me that was not a pretty sight.

Thanks to the happy couple for buying me dinner afterwards and allowing me to share in their special day. I’m looking forward to July 14th!

Save The Date {Laura and Manny}

She said yes!!!

For both Laura and Manny the second time is the charm, and they are really excited about there upcoming nuptials in the Chapel at Treasure Island, in Las Vegas Nevada. And so am I They are also excited to be able to share this special day for the two of them with all their friends and family. The ceremony will be held at 5.30pm on August 18th this year. I have seen the dress and trust me when I say that it will be worth the drive out here just to see Laura in it!

Here are some still images from their engagement session in downtown Riverside so you can see how great a couple they make, up close and personal. And who knew downtown Riverside had so many cool locations to shoot? I didn’t! But we had a great time in the alley ways, and on the bridges down there. And it was great people watching too. Laura looks gorgeous, I think you’ll agree, and Manny as handsome as ever. Enjoy.

Hooptastic {Playdate In The Park}

Ain’t It Sweet! {Dainty Frames}

Dainty Frames are exclusive to our studio for this event. They are so cute and when I saw them I knew they would be perfect for this. Great for on your desk or the mantle, the will go with any décor. They will also make an excellent Mother’s Day gift for yourself, your mother or for those dads coming to the event as a Father’s Day gift.

The frames are just under 8×8 inches with a 3 1/2 inch opening for your favorite images from the session. They are hand made in Los Angeles in this cream color with hand textured edges and an adorable 8 petaled flower in the top center. You will not be able to find this frame anywhere else and we look forward to sharing them with you for our Snap Session.

Look at the corners here on the frame. They are handmade and sanded here in LA.

This little flower is attached, painted, sanded and adorable! There is a tiny dowel included that you put into a wee hole and it keeps it with with barely a profile.

You can see how thin the frame is so it will not overpower a mantle, but will still stand out. These flower is my favorite flower and I happened to have some fresh ones around the house that I knew would look adorable with this frame. It’s called a Renunculus and is what my logo is based on. If I could I would have the in the house all the time, but of course they are seasonal. I just wanted to add the image because it so beautiful a flower it needs to be seen!!!

Color Us…Excited!

We are so excited to present our family and photography centric event – Playdate in the Park! Our playdate will feature all sorts of fun activities including coloring! Coloring is such a stimulating and expressive exercise. The motion of coloring build motor skills, introduces color’s by name as well as the beauty of colors and provides a creative outlet for you and your little one’s imagination, ideas and emotions.

Check out the wonderful coloring book that will be making an appearance in our activity’s area!

I don’t know about you but that butterfly I can easy color, the train and all those people…I’m not too sure. It looks pretty complicated!!!!

Baby Bird {Madelyn Sophia Lily}

I was so excited to hear that my friend and her husband were expecting and could just tell before she arrived that she was going to be a cute one. And I was right. Here is little Madelyn at 2 weeks for her first photo session. Her mum won this Sparrow Mini Session back in January from our competition. She was one of the first to enter the competition and it paid off. then we just had to wait for little Maddie to arrive.

It was worth the wait and these are some of my favorite newborn images to date. I love that I was able to use some of my new studio props, while still using the natural light in California. I’m looking forward to watching little Maddie grow.

What Time Is Nap Time? ~ Win an Awesome Book

We want to know what time is nap time for you. And by you, we mean the kids! We are finishing off the details for our upcoming Picnic In the Park event on April 15th and want to make sure we don’t plan it when most kids are snoozing.

Jumping Jellyfish! {A Great Childrens Store in Old Pasadena}

We are so excited to have stumbled upon this great store in Old Pasadena this weekend. They have the cutest clothes in there. Like the kind of stuff I wish they made in adult sizes!

One of the joys of parenting is dressing your children. Dressing them in adorable, fun, cute and functional outfits. They can be like your own little play and dress dolls. We are often searching for a unique, comfortable and durable outfit that represents both ourselves and our child’s personalities. Jumping Jellyfish is a wonderful boutique in Old Town Pasadena where you will find clothes, toys and shoes that fit you and your child’s personalities and style to a T. They carry a wide variety of children’s clothes and brands from the striped, soft and modern patterns of Kumquat to the classic inspired styles of Misha LuLu, there is something for everyone.

I am looking forward to being able to go there with my nephew and sister when they visit in July to get Corey some new threads. And I hope to be able to capture some of their cool styles in some upcoming family portrait sessions.

A Holy Day {Henry’s Baptism}

This was such a fun day for me. Not only was I able to capture some special memories for this family, but i was able to witness an orthodox type baptism and an unforgettable party with great people and some of the best food I have had in a longtime. It was such a pleasure to be a part of this family for the day.
